Fatal Collision in Kelso

Two men lost their lives in a road crash that occurred in Kelso, located in the Scottish Borders.

Emergency services responded to the incident on the A6089 Edinburgh Road, close to the junction with the B6364, at 18:50 on Wednesday evening.

The collision involved a metallic green Ford Fiesta and a silver Nissan Leaf. Both drivers, aged 35 and 42, were declared dead at the scene.

No other injuries were reported in connection with the crash. Authorities have urged anyone with information to come forward and contact the police.

The road was closed to allow for a thorough investigation and was reopened at approximately 01:30 on Thursday morning.

Ongoing Investigation

Sgt Jamie Humpage provided a statement regarding the incident:

"Our thoughts remain with the family and friends of both the men at this extremely difficult time, and our inquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances of this collision."
