The incident occurred shortly after 08:30 BST on Wednesday as the girl and a boy were crossing Chell Heath Road.

Emergency Response

Paramedics provided trauma care to the girl at the scene before transporting her to the Royal Stoke University Hospital, according to West Midlands Ambulance Service.

"She was given trauma care by paramedics at the scene before she was taken to the Royal Stoke University Hospital," West Midlands Ambulance Service said.

The boy also sustained injuries that could be serious. He received treatment at the scene and was subsequently taken to the same hospital for further evaluation.

"The boy suffered injuries which could be serious," the service's spokesperson added, "and was also treated before being taken to the same hospital for further checks."
