Teenager Detained for Murder of 14-Year-Old in Manchester

A teenager has been detained for a minimum of 11 years and 10 months after murdering a 14-year-old boy who was on his way to play football with friends.

Ibrahima Seck was fatally stabbed in the heart in the New Moston area of Manchester on 8 June. Despite his injuries, he was able to identify his attacker before passing away in hospital.

The assailant, who was also 14 years old at the time, was found guilty of murder following a jury trial. Evidence included a rap video in which the teenager boasted about having

"done a murder"
.

Two other boys, aged 14 and 16 at the time, were convicted of manslaughter. They received detention sentences of two years and 10 months, and two years and four months, respectively.

Manchester Crown Court heard that Ibrahima had been pursued by the three teenagers to a pub car park, where he sustained the fatal wound.

Prior to the attack, there had been a brief altercation between one of Ibrahima's friends and a member of the other group of boys.
