Six Men Charged Over Cannabis Farm at Former Wick High School

Six Vietnamese men are scheduled to stand trial following the discovery of cannabis plants valued at approximately £7.1 million inside the former Wick High School located in Caithness.

The accused are Thong Vo, 38, Chinh Nguyen, 44, Diep Van Le, 47, Trung Nguyen, 35, Pham Quoc Anh, 23, and Nam Viet Le, 23. They face charges related to the production and supply of a class B drug.

The alleged offences took place between 1 July 2025 and 1 February 2026.

During the hearing, Vo's legal representatives did not enter a plea. The other five defendants pleaded not guilty and submitted a special defence of coercion on behalf of each individual.

Legal Proceedings and Investigations

The case was brought before the High Court in Glasgow for a hearing.

It was disclosed that investigations are ongoing in collaboration with the Home Office National Referral Mechanism to determine whether any of the six men might be victims of human trafficking.

Lord Scott has scheduled the trial to commence in October 2027.
