Search Underway for Missing Teen at Testwood Lakes
Testwood Lakes, located near Totton, Southampton, remains closed as search efforts continue for a 15-year-old boy reported missing after swimming in the lake.
Police marine units, alongside other emergency services, joined the search on Wednesday afternoon following reports that the boy was last seen in the water around 13:35 BST.
Hampshire Police confirmed that the search for the boy is ongoing. Authorities have urged the public to avoid the area while the investigation and rescue operations proceed.
The nature reserve, owned by Southern Water and managed by Hampshire & Isle of Wight Wildlife Trust, has been closed until further notice.
The incident coincided with the UK's hottest June day on record, with temperatures reaching 36.1°C in Gosport, Hampshire.
In response to the situation, Testwood Lakes issued a statement expressing their concern:
"We are extremely concerned to hear of this serious incident."
Search and rescue units were dispatched to the nature reserve on Wednesday afternoon to assist in locating the missing boy.
