A train driver who died in a collision in Bedfordshire passed a red signal shortly before the crash, according to investigators.

Shaun Burton, aged 60, lost his life and approximately 100 passengers were injured when a London-bound train collided with the rear of another service on Friday.

The Rail Accident Investigation Branch (RAIB) released an interim report stating that Burton's train went past a red signal near the crash site in Elstow, close to Bedford, at 17:15 BST on Friday.
