Illegal Rave Disrupted Amid Hostile Response

Police encountered missiles thrown at them while working to shut down an illegal rave held at a scenic location near East Lulworth.

Dorset Police reported that approximately 2,000 attendees and over 100 vehicles were present at the event, which led to 10 arrests.

The incident was first reported around 23:45 BST on Saturday. Officers remained on site until Sunday evening to bring the event to a close, during which they faced a "violent and hostile reception" and were subjected to attacks involving thrown objects.

Authorities seized equipment and closed nearby roads as part of their efforts to halt the gathering. Arrests included charges such as driving under the influence and assaulting an emergency worker.

Police Statement on Violence and Enforcement

"While responding to the incident, our officers came under attack from missiles and faced a violent and hostile reception."

Assistant Chief Constable Steve Lyne of Dorset Police emphasized the seriousness of the situation and the commitment to community safety.

The police force is currently reviewing evidence collected from the event to identify any additional offences that may have been committed.
