Incident Details

Police have issued an appeal for information following a sexual assault on a woman in Lockerbie on Saturday evening.

The incident occurred at approximately 19:10 while the 30-year-old woman was walking along Dumfries Road near the junction with St Brydes Terrace.

According to officers, a man approached the woman, assaulted her, and then left the scene heading towards Main Street.

Police Scotland reported that the victim was left shaken by the assault, and investigations are ongoing to identify and locate the suspect.

The suspect is described as a white male, approximately 5ft 5in (1.65m) tall, with a medium build. At the time of the incident, he was wearing a dark jumper, blue jeans, and a baseball cap.

Police Appeal

A police spokesperson stated:

"This was a distressing incident which left the victim understandably shaken.
I am appealing for anyone who witnessed the incident to contact us.
I would also appeal to anyone who was in the area and may have dash cam or private CCTV footage which could assist to get in touch."
