Police Seek Help to Find Missing Ben Nevis Climber Brian McGillicuddy

Police are searching for Brian McGillicuddy, 64, who went missing after a planned Ben Nevis hike. He was last seen near Glasdrum Road on 19 February and may have been on the Orion Face Direct route.

Search Underway for Missing Hill Climber

Police have issued an appeal to locate a climber who has gone missing in the Scottish Highlands. Brian McGillicuddy, aged 64, was reported missing on Thursday after he did not return from a planned hike on Ben Nevis.

He was last seen at approximately 04:00 GMT on 19 February near Glasdrum Road in Fort William. It is believed that Mr. McGillicuddy intended to hike to the Charles Inglis Clark Memorial Hut on Ben Nevis and may have been attempting the Orion Face Direct route.

Description and Clothing

Mr. McGillicuddy is described as being 6 feet 1 inch (1.85 meters) tall, with a slim build and short grey and white hair. When last observed, he was wearing a white climbing helmet, a dark blue jacket, white jeans, and blue and red gaiters.

Police Appeal for Information

Sgt Paige Macdonald stated:

"Brian is an experienced hill walker, but he did not return from his planned hike and has not been heard from since.
"I am appealing to anyone who may have seen someone matching Brian's description to please come forward with information, no matter how small it may seem."
