Police Investigate Threatening Email Sent to Schools and Businesses
The Police Service of Northern Ireland (PSNI) is currently investigating an email described as "threatening" that was sent to multiple schools and businesses across Northern Ireland.
Reports were received by the PSNI on Tuesday morning concerning the email in the County Antrim area. Officers have launched several enquiries to determine the nature and source of the communication.
In response to the incident, the PSNI has increased reassurance patrols in the affected areas to enhance community safety.
"Reassurance patrols have also been increased in the areas affected, in order help keep our communities safe," the PSNI said.
Authorities are actively engaging with those impacted, including schools, businesses, and partner agencies, as investigations continue throughout the day.
"We would be engaging with anyone affected including schools, businesses and our partner agencies throughout the course of today as our enquiries continue."
The PSNI has urged the public to report any suspicious activity by contacting police via the 101 number, or 999 in emergencies.
"We would urge anyone to report anything suspicious to police on our 101 number, always 999 in an emergency."
