Police Investigate Possible Connection Between Shooting and Stabbing

Authorities are examining whether a drive-by shooting that injured four individuals is related to a stabbing incident in which a 33-year-old man sustained critical injuries.

The shooting occurred on Coldharbour Lane at approximately 01:15 BST on Saturday, leaving a 25-year-old man in life-threatening condition. Approximately one hour later, Metropolitan Police officers responded to a stabbing about 700 meters away on Acre Lane.

Following the shooting, four people were transported to hospital with gunshot wounds. Among them, three individuals aged 21, 47, and 70 suffered injuries that were not life-threatening, according to the Metropolitan Police.

No arrests have been made in connection with either the shooting or the stabbing.

Details of the Shooting Incident

The Metropolitan Police are investigating the possibility that the two attacks are linked.

A witness informed the BBC that on Friday evening, people had gathered outside Southwyck House on Coldharbour Lane to enjoy the bank holiday sunshine, with families and children attending a summer party.

The shooting took place in the early hours of Saturday when a car approached from the opposite side of the road and fired seven shots, the witness reported. He described the scene as chaotic, with terrified people "scrambling for their lives."

On Sunday, around ten forensic workers were observed examining debris at the Coldharbour Lane shooting site, which is reportedly a common location for barbecues. They sifted through bottles, bags, and other rubbish.

Stabbing Incident and Victims' Conditions

The man found on Acre Lane suffered multiple stab wounds and remains in life-threatening condition, as does the man injured in the shooting on Coldharbour Lane.

The police have issued an appeal for anyone with information about either attack to come forward.

Community Reactions

Moh John, 45, who works at a supermarket near Southwyck House, described how people who rushed into the shop after the shooting were frightened, prompting him to keep the doors locked for some time.

"It was busy, there was a party. I saw the people run away.
But then I saw the people, some people try to come in the shop and I locked the door."

Robert, 40, who declined to provide his surname, told the Press Association he did not witness the shooting but believed it occurred at the barbecue, which was crowded.

"I think it happened at the barbecue. It was packed.
I usually feel safe around here, people know each other and get on. There's been a few stabbings, and one day one gun was caught, but I don't think anyone's ever been shot like this."
