Police Granted More Time to Question Men in East Belfast Murder Case

Police have been granted extra time to question two men arrested in connection with the murder of Nicholas Gordon in east Belfast on 12 May.

Extended Questioning in East Belfast Murder Investigation

Police have been granted additional time to question two men arrested on suspicion of the murder of a man in east Belfast.

Nicholas Gordon, 51, known as Nicky, was attacked when several intruders entered an apartment building on the Holywood Road in the early hours of 12 May.

He was taken to hospital but later died from his injuries.

Two men, aged 25 and 31, were arrested in Scotland on Monday and subsequently returned to Northern Ireland for questioning.

On Wednesday night, police obtained a court extension of an additional 36 hours to question the 31-year-old man.

On Thursday morning, the same extension was granted to question the 25-year-old man.

Two other individuals arrested on suspicion of aggravated burglary with intent to commit grievous bodily harm were released unconditionally on Tuesday.
