Beach Partially Closed Due to Unexploded Bomb

A beach along the Sussex shoreline has been partially cordoned off following the discovery of an unexploded bomb.

Sussex Police confirmed that sections of Medmerry Beach in Selsey, near Chichester, were closed on Thursday morning after the suspected munition was located.

A spokesperson for Sussex Police stated:

"We are assessing items believed to be smoke signals and small munition fragments."

Royal Navy bomb disposal teams were also deployed to the scene to assist with the situation.
