Lottery Funding Boosts Community Support in Coventry
Destination Ball Hill, a community group based in Coventry, has received over £19,000 from the National Lottery Community Fund. This funding will enable the group to expand its services and maintain its role as an accessible resource for those in need.
The organisation operates a job club, provides mental health support, and offers activities for children and families at the 2 Tone Cafe and All Saints St Margaret's Church.
The group described the funding as
"a win for the whole community"and a
"major step forward"in facilitating growth.
With this support, Destination Ball Hill plans to increase the number of weekly activities and introduce new programs tailored to the needs of the local community.
Community Support and Outreach
Rev Beks Rothnie, representing All Saints St Margaret's Church, emphasized the importance of accessible support services, stating that help is available
"right on their doorstep when they need it."
She further explained that additional services cater to individuals facing difficulties, especially amid the current economic crisis, providing a place to talk and connect.
"It gives them a chance to build community, make friends, not be isolated.
There is fantastic support out there, but it's sometimes a question of getting to it."
Destination Ball Hill’s ongoing efforts aim to foster community connection and provide vital assistance during challenging times.
