Man Charged with Murder at Wemyss Bay Holiday Park

A man is set to face trial over the murder of another individual at a holiday park located in Wemyss Bay, Inverclyde.

Sean Ward, aged 22, is accused of fatally stabbing Raymond Cosgrove during an incident in September 2025. The attack took place inside a caravan at Rothesay Gardens within the Parkdean resort.

According to prosecutors, Ward repeatedly struck and stabbed the 33-year-old victim on the body with a blade or a similar weapon.

During a hearing at the High Court in Glasgow, Ward's legal representatives entered a plea of not guilty on his behalf.

The indictment specifies that Cosgrove sustained injuries severe enough to cause his death at the location.

Additional Charges Against Sean Ward

Ward is also facing a separate charge related to the assault of a woman at the same holiday park.

Furthermore, he is accused of attacking a man with an axe in Coatbridge, North Lanarkshire, in May 2025.

The trial for these charges is scheduled to commence in September 2027.

At the time of the incident, a spokesperson for Wemyss Holiday Park stated they were unable to comment on the ongoing investigation but expressed sympathy for the victim's family.
