Police officers intervened to assist a man who was driving a mobility scooter on the M11 motorway near Harlow. The incident occurred at approximately 12:35 GMT on Friday when the man was observed traveling along the hard shoulder.

Essex Police responded promptly, temporarily closing a single lane to ensure safety while they approached the individual. After checking on his condition, officers placed him into a car and transported both him and his mobility scooter back to his home.

"Not a typical stop for our roads policing unit, but a great reminder to only use suitable vehicles on our major roads," a police spokesperson said.
