Man Denies Murder of Conor Browne

Conor Browne died two days after an altercation outside a bar in Castlederg.

A man has denied murdering a father-of-one following an incident outside a pub.

Conor Browne, aged 28, was stabbed in Castlederg, County Tyrone, in the early hours of 2 September 2023 and succumbed to his injuries two days later.

Adam Acheson, 30, from Baron Square Court in Drumquin, faces five charges including murder.

Court Proceedings

At Belfast Crown Court on Tuesday, Acheson entered a plea of not guilty to the murder charge, as well as to charges of common assault and affray.

He also denied charges of perverting the course of justice, specifically by removing number plates from a white van on the same date, and a charge of dangerous driving.

No trial date has been scheduled yet. A defence barrister indicated the trial could last between two and three weeks.

The defence has engaged a forensic toxicologist and a pathologist to assist with the case.

Acheson remains in custody pending further proceedings.
