Man Admits Possession of Explosives and Threats at College

A man has admitted to possessing explosive substances and making threats to bomb a college.

Jagger Strang, 18, was scheduled to stand trial at Leicester Crown Court on Wednesday but entered a guilty plea before proceedings began.

He confessed to possession of gunpowder and thermite, as well as accessing YouTube videos related to the manufacture of black powder and constructing a detonator from improvised materials.

Strang, who is from Stafford, also admitted to making threats to kill fellow students at Stafford College and to detonate a bomb there in September.

The court was informed that Strang pleaded guilty on the grounds that he had no intention of actually building a bomb.

The judge, Mr Justice Wall, said Strang would be sentenced at Birmingham Crown Court on 29 June.
