A man has died after falling from a boat off the coast of Orkney. The incident is understood to have involved a 22-year-old who fell from a salmon farming boat in Scapa Flow on Thursday afternoon.
What happened in Scapa Flow?
The RNLI's Stromness lifeboat was launched after the incident, and two of its crew boarded the vessel to provide support before escorting it back to Stromness harbour.
Emergency services were called to the harbour at about 14:50, where they met the boat. Insp David Hall, of Police Scotland, said the 22-year-old was pronounced dead a short time later.
Inquiries are ongoing and the death is not being treated as suspicious.
