Serious Crash in Shetland

A man is in critical condition following a serious vehicle collision in Shetland. Emergency services responded to the incident involving a white Toyota Hilux on the B9706 Scatsa Airport Road at approximately 00:45 on Sunday.

The male passenger of the pick-up truck was transported to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary Hospital for treatment.

The 30-year-old male driver was arrested in connection with the crash but has since been released pending further inquiries.

Ongoing Investigation

Sgt Scott MacDonald provided a statement regarding the incident:

"Our inquiries are ongoing to establish the circumstances of this crash and I am appealing for anyone who saw the crash and hasn't already spoken to officers to get in touch.
"I would also appeal to anyone who was in the area and who may have dash cam or private CCTV footage which could assist to contact us, external."
