Man Charged with Alleged Rape Appears in Court

A 29-year-old man, Declyn Haggerty, has appeared at Paisley Sheriff Court charged with the alleged rape of a male teenager in an alleyway in Paisley.

During his court appearance, Haggerty entered no plea. He was subsequently committed for further examination and remanded in custody.

Following the incident, which occurred at approximately 20:15 on Tuesday, police cordoned off the area surrounding Meetinghouse Lane as part of their investigation.
