Man Charged Over Woman's Death in Glasgow

A man has been formally charged in relation to the death of a woman found at a block of flats in Glasgow.

The deceased, Joanne Newlands, aged 41, was discovered in a property located on Kirkton Avenue in the Knightswood area on 17 March. This followed reports raising concern for her welfare.

Police Scotland arrested a 49-year-old man the day after the discovery. Initially, he was released pending further inquiries.

A spokesperson for the police confirmed that the suspect has now been charged in connection with Joanne Newlands' death. The individual is scheduled to appear before Glasgow Sheriff Court on Wednesday.
