Incident Overview
Detectives have charged a suspect following the death of a man at Edinburgh's Banana Flats. Barry Gilgun, aged 35, was reportedly stabbed during a disturbance outside the residential block known as Cables Wynd House at approximately 21:40 on Sunday.
Gilgun was found with serious injuries and was transported to hospital, where he subsequently died.
Police Scotland confirmed that a 33-year-old man, arrested on Monday in relation to the incident, has been charged. The suspect is scheduled to appear at Edinburgh Sheriff Court on Tuesday.
A police cordon was established outside the flats in Leith as part of the investigation.
