Police Warn Community to Stay Vigilant

Chief Inspector Garry Smith issued a warning to the public, particularly older residents, to be cautious of individuals posing as workmen offering services such as gardening, building, or roofing repairs.

"We are asking residents, particularly older members of our community, to remain vigilant against bogus workmen offering gardening work, building or roofing repairs."

He further explained the tactics used by these offenders.

"These individuals often prey on trust and vulnerability, using deception to gain access to properties or persuade victims to hand over large amounts of money for unnecessary or substandard work."
