A 19-year-old man from the Cardigan area has admitted to intentionally placing human faeces in a public swimming pool, resulting in the pool's closure and subsequent cleaning.

Dyfed-Powys Police reported receiving information about a series of alleged criminal damage incidents at Newcastle Emlyn Leisure Centre spanning from November 2025 to May 2026.

Following identification and interview by officers, the individual acknowledged deliberately contaminating the swimming pool with human waste. This act led to the temporary closure of the facility to allow for thorough cleaning.
