Official Visit Progresses in London and Leeds
The Irish president is currently on the second day of her three-day official visit to London and Leeds.
Catherine Connolly spent Tuesday afternoon attending the Chelsea Flower Show, followed by an appearance at the London Irish Centre in Camden.

On Monday, President Connolly met with King Charles III, during which she extended an invitation for the King to undertake a state visit to Ireland. The King
"graciously accepted"the invitation.
Connolly's visit to England coincides with King Charles III and Queen Camilla's first visit of the year to Northern Ireland.
Monday's Engagements and Cultural Activities
The president's trip commenced on Monday with a visit to the Irish Cultural Centre in Hammersmith, London. There, she highlighted concerns regarding housing shortages, noting that some Irish citizens are leaving Ireland due to this issue.
During her visit, she engaged with participants of an Irish language class and enjoyed various musical and dance performances.
This marks Connolly's first official visit to Great Britain since her inauguration in November.
Upcoming Visits in Leeds
On Wednesday, the final day of her visit, President Connolly will visit Leeds University and the Leeds Irish Centre.
She will receive a briefing on the operations of the Irish Health Centre in Leeds and meet with representatives from other Irish centres in the region.
This is the third official visit President Connolly has undertaken since assuming office, following previous visits to Northern Ireland and Spain.
Context of the Visit Amid Family and International Developments
The Irish president's current trip occurs in the context of the detention of her sister, Dr Margaret Connolly.
Dr Connolly was part of an aid flotilla to Gaza that was intercepted in international waters and boarded by Israeli forces on Monday.
The flotilla organizers reported that 10 boats within a 60-vessel convoy were intercepted.

Israel's Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu stated that the raid was
"effectively neutralising a malicious plan designed to break the isolation we have imposed on Hamas terrorists in Gaza".
