Early Retirement After Life-Changing Lotto Win
Paul Wynne, a 58-year-old fruit and vegetable delivery driver from Deeside, has retired from his early morning shifts following a significant National Lottery win. After playing the same two lines of numbers for eight years, Paul won £1 million, enabling him to hand in his two-week notice and leave his job ahead of schedule.
The father-of-eight immediately realized the impact of his win and decided to retire early, despite having eight years left until his planned retirement age.
"Getting up at 3.15am and starting work at 4am is hard, especially in the winter in the ice and snow."
Upon discovering his win, Paul informed his employer and said,
"I'll give my two weeks notice. They said my job's there if I want it back any time, but for now I'm enjoying my retirement."
Paul is now looking forward to spending more time at the racecourse and potentially investing in a racehorse.

Plans and Purchases Following the Win
Paul has treated himself to a new car and is planning a bucket list holiday to the United States, specifically New York, later this year. He is also considering buying a share in a racehorse to enhance his experience at the races.
Reflecting on the moment he realized the size of his win, Paul said it took some time to fully comprehend the amount.
"It took me a while to work out exactly how much I had won as I originally thought it was £1,700 in winnings, which I was overjoyed about. I then realised I had five main numbers and the bonus ball too, meaning I had won £1 million."
He described the experience as a rollercoaster of emotions,
"A few days later I was thinking maybe I will wake up and it will be Sunday morning again and it was all a dream. It's just been a rollercoaster since I found out."
Paul's first purchase with his winnings was a new car, replacing his old vehicle that was near the end of its lifespan.

"I've bought a new car and my old car has already been scrapped. It was absolutely on its last legs, I don't think it would have kept going much longer so I can't believe how well it's worked out for me to win this money."
Supporting Family and Future Aspirations
In addition to enjoying his early retirement, Paul is determined to provide financial support to his children, something he had been unable to do previously.
"I've never been able to help out financially the way I've wanted to with my kids. When my son Danny got married, I wasn't able to give him as much help as I wanted, but now I can really help them out and it makes me feel so happy."
Looking ahead, Paul is excited about attending the races and placing some well-considered bets.
"I'm looking forward to heading to the races and maybe putting on a few well-placed bets."
