Five individuals, including two children, were transported to hospitals following a 15-vehicle collision on the M73 motorway in North Lanarkshire.

Emergency Response

The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service dispatched three fire appliances along with a heavy rescue unit to the incident site shortly before midnight.

Hospital Admissions

Two patients were admitted to Queen Elizabeth University Hospital in Glasgow, while two others were taken to the adjacent Royal Hospital for Children. Additionally, one patient was transported to Glasgow Royal Infirmary.

On-Scene Treatment and Road Closure

Three individuals received medical treatment at the scene. The northbound carriageway between Junction 2 (Gartcosh) and Junction 3 was closed and subsequently reopened just before 04:00 on Monday.

Ambulance Service Involvement

The Scottish Ambulance Service reported deploying six ambulances and two special operations teams to manage the situation.
