House Fire in Fife Claims Lives of Five Dogs

Five dogs have died following a house fire in Fife.

Fire crews responded to the incident on Castle Terrace in Kennoway at approximately 14:20 on Monday.

Three fire engines were dispatched to the location. While there were no reported human casualties, several dogs and exotic animals were present inside the property.

Firefighters managed to bring the fire under control and departed the scene around 16:30. The animals that survived the fire are currently receiving veterinary care.

The road near the site was closed during emergency response efforts but has since been reopened.

Investigations into the cause of the fire are ongoing.

Statements from SSPCA and Authorities

A spokesperson for the Scottish Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (SSPCA) commented on the situation:

"Unfortunately, as it has been reported the dogs were deceased.
The exotic animals were taken to an external vet for treatment, and they are not in our care."

Police Scotland has also been contacted for comment regarding the incident.
