Farringdon Station Evacuated Over Suspected Gas Leak
Farringdon station was evacuated and closed following a suspected gas leak, with a small number of passengers reporting feeling unwell.
British Transport Police (BTP) responded to the incident at 09:42 BST. The situation is also impacting train services at the station.
BTP stated: "Officers are in attendance, alongside the ambulance service and the fire brigade, and the station has been evacuated while enquiries are conducted."
National Rail has informed passengers that train services at Farringdon will be suspended until 13:00.
Thameslink has issued an online advisory for customers:
"Emergency services are currently dealing with an incident at Farringdon. You will need to travel to an alternative station, either City Thameslink (Holborn exit) or London St. Pancras International."
Passengers using the Elizabeth Line are being advised to use London buses to and from Farringdon at no additional cost to complete their journeys.
