Lee Harshey-Jones appeared at Chester Crown Court on Tuesday but did not enter a plea.
A detective has appeared in court charged with taking photographs beneath the clothing of a child without consent, an act commonly referred to as upskirting.
North Wales Police Detective Constable Lee Harshey-Jones, aged 45, from Rhos-on-Sea in Conwy county, appeared at Chester Crown Court on Tuesday but did not record a plea.
He was a lead investigator in the death of two-year-old Ethan Ives-Griffiths, whose grandparents were sentenced to prison for murder in 2025. Additionally, he has provided evidence in other high-profile murder trials in North Wales.
Harshey-Jones was released on conditional bail until 30 September, with a provisional trial date set for 16 August 2027.
He was suspended from his duties following an alleged incident in Colwyn Bay, Conwy county, in June.
Operating equipment beneath clothing without consent is an offence under the Sexual Offences Act 2003.
