Energy-Saving Packs Offered by Charity
A charity is distributing packs that they claim could help reduce energy bills by up to £800 per year.
Citizens Advice Hull and East Riding is organizing weekly drop-in events throughout the region to distribute 1,000 energy-saving packs.
Each pack contains window insulation, draught-proofing materials, a room thermometer, a water-saving device, a dehumidifier, and a booklet with cost-cutting advice.
Energy advisors will be available at these sessions to assist individuals in reducing their power and heating consumption.
Additionally, information on solar panels, heat pumps, and boiler upgrades will be provided.
Context on Energy Prices
Citizens Advice noted that despite a reduction in the energy price cap, "global events and rising crude oil prices are likely to drive up gas prices."
Event Details and Support Offered
Kirsty Connor, representing Citizens Advice, stated that the sessions will take place weekly at the charity's offices located in Bridlington, Beverley, and Goole.
"Just a few small changes can lead to significant savings on your energy bills, and these bags give people the tools to do exactly that," she said.
"We can also go through your unique situation to see if you're entitled to any benefits or discounts that could relieve the strain. Pop in and see us."
