Suspicious Package Found at RAF Lossiemouth
A bomb disposal team was called after a suspicious package was discovered at RAF Lossiemouth.
Following the discovery during a routine security search at the Moray base, a cordon was established around the area.
The RAF confirmed that some personnel were temporarily relocated within the base as a precautionary measure, but flying operations continued without disruption.
"EOD (Explosive Ordnance Disposal) has been notified, a cordon is in place, and we are working with civilian agencies to resolve the issue."
Strategic Importance of RAF Lossiemouth
The RAF site in north-east Scotland serves as one of two Quick Reaction Alert (QRA) stations, hosting jets tasked with protecting UK airspace.
