Fatal Fire at Burntisland Flats

A man has died following a fire at a block of flats in Fife.

Emergency services including police, ambulances, and firefighters responded to a blaze at a ground-floor property on Somerville Square, Burntisland, at approximately 05:30.

The 59-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene.

Investigation and Response

The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service confirmed that a multi-agency investigation has been launched into the incident. However, police have stated that there are not believed to be any suspicious circumstances surrounding the fire.

Three fire engines attended the scene, accompanied by an ambulance and a special operations response team from the Scottish Ambulance Service.

Firefighters departed the location shortly before 08:00.

Police Scotland indicated that inquiries into the incident are ongoing.
