Man Arrested Following Alleged Attempted Abduction of 18-Year-Old Woman
Police have detained a 33-year-old man in connection with an incident described as an attempted abduction of an 18-year-old woman.
According to South Wales Police, the woman was disembarking from a bus in the Pontrennau area of Cardiff when she was reportedly followed on foot by an individual.
The arrest occurred several hours after the event, which took place at approximately 18:30 GMT on Saturday near the intersection of Clos Nant Mwlan and Heol Pontprennau.
Detective Inspector Laura Parsons expressed gratitude towards a woman driving a black car who intervened during the incident and called for her to come forward to assist with the ongoing investigation.
"Incidents such as this one are extremely rare and I would like to reassure people that we have arrested a suspect who is in police custody,"
Det Insp Parsons added.
