Incident at Outdoor Activity Centre
A 10-year-old boy is currently hospitalized following a fall during a school trip at an outdoor activity centre.
The pupil, who attends Libanus Primary in Blackwood, Caerphilly, was visiting the Dolygaer Outdoor Centre in Merthyr Tydfil on Wednesday evening with classmates. The incident occurred as he was preparing to use the zip wire.
The centre's website describes the zip wire as beginning with a 20-metre (65-foot) climb up a tree to a platform, followed by a 100-metre long zip line ride.
Immediate Response and Medical Assistance
Staff at the centre and accompanying teachers administered first aid to the boy. Additionally, a member of the mountain rescue team was involved in the initial response before paramedics arrived on the scene.

In an official statement, the centre indicated that the boy remains in hospital recovering.
"Our primary concern is the wellbeing of the student and their family, as well as the students and staff who witnessed this event.
