Funeral Ceremony in Tehran

Large crowds loyal to the Islamic Republic have gathered in Tehran to attend the funeral ceremony of Iran's former supreme leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, who was killed in joint US-Israeli strikes at the onset of the war.

Notably absent from the funeral was his second son and successor, Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei. However, Ali Khamenei's other three sons—Masoud, Mostafa, and Meysam—were present at the service held in the capital on Sunday.

According to Iranian state media, the funeral ceremonies will extend over six days and take place across multiple locations in Iran and neighboring Iraq. The late ayatollah is scheduled to be buried in his hometown of Mashhad on Thursday.
