Explosion Incident and Immediate Response
A police cordon at a residence where an explosion resulted in two fatalities and three injuries has been lifted. The incident occurred at a house on Sterncourt Road in Frenchay, near Bristol.
Authorities were alerted to a domestic-related situation at the property shortly before the explosion, which took place at approximately 06:30 BST on Sunday.
A man and a woman lost their lives in the blast, while a man, a woman, and a child sustained minor injuries and were transported to hospital. Avon and Somerset Police have described the explosion as "suspicious."
The injured individuals have since been discharged from medical care, and police continue to conduct searches within the home.

Cordon and Resident Support
Initially, a large cordon was established on Sunday morning but has now been removed. During the cordon, armed officers directed displaced residents to a nearby Harvester pub. Helen Bull, the pub manager, reported that around 30 people arrived at 07:00, including several elderly individuals, many of whom were still in nightclothes.
Police have stated that "almost all" residents have been allowed to return to their homes. Those who remain affected are receiving assistance from Bristol City Council.
Investigation and Further Actions
In a news conference held on Sunday afternoon, Superintendent Matt Ebbs revealed that police had conducted inquiries at a property in Speedwell, Bristol, connected to the deceased man.
"Police were not looking for anyone else in connection with the incident but said it remained a 'complex and sensitive investigation'."
Specialist searches were also carried out by the British Army's Explosive Ordnance Disposal unit as a precautionary measure.
Authorities have reported that there is no significant damage to surrounding properties.
