Air France and Airbus Found Guilty of Manslaughter
Air France and Airbus have been found guilty of manslaughter in connection with a 2009 plane crash that resulted in the deaths of 228 people.
The Paris Appeals Court determined that both the airline and the aircraft manufacturer were responsible for corporate manslaughter related to the incident. The crash involved a flight traveling from Rio de Janeiro to Paris that went down in the Atlantic Ocean.
The passenger jet stalled during a storm and subsequently plunged into the water, killing everyone on board.
Earlier in April 2023, a court had acquitted the companies, but the verdict was overturned following this appeal.
