Martial Arts Champion and Actor Chuck Norris Passes Away
Chuck Norris, the former world karate champion who leveraged his martial arts expertise to become the lead in numerous low-budget yet commercially successful action films, has died at the age of 86.
His family confirmed his passing on Thursday, stating:
"While we would like to keep the circumstances private, please know that he was surrounded by his family and was at peace."
Career Highlights and Legacy
Norris secured a series of karate championships during the late 1960s. His friendship with fellow martial artist Bruce Lee led to a notable role in Lee’s 1972 film The Way of the Dragon. Following this, Norris starred in several action movies over the subsequent two decades, including Invasion USA and The Delta Force. He also became widely recognized for his role in the long-running television series Walker, Texas Ranger.
Beyond his entertainment career, Norris gained political attention for his outspoken support of right-wing political causes.
