Super Furry Animals to Appear at Eisteddfod Maes After 30 Years
The upcoming performance by Super Furry Animals in August is described as a rare opportunity to see them "perform in the special atmosphere of the Eisteddfod Maes."
One of Wales' most iconic bands will perform on the National Eisteddfod Maes this year for the first time in three decades.
Organisers have stated there will be a "rare chance" to see Super Furry Animals on the Maes Stage on the first Saturday night of the Garreg Las Eisteddfod, 1 August, in Llandudno, North Pembrokeshire.
The last time the popular group performed at the Eisteddfod was during the Llandeilo Eisteddfod in 1996, when they brought a blue tank to the Maes as part of a promotional campaign.

Online speculation about the band's return to the Eisteddfod arose after an image of a blue tank appeared on the Eisteddfod's social media over the weekend.
Band Preparing for UK and Ireland Tour
The group is currently preparing for a series of gigs across the UK and Ireland, including a concert at the Llangollen Eisteddfod Pavilion – their first tour in nearly a decade.
According to Eisteddfod organisers, the performance in Llandudno "will be the only Welsh-language gig the band will perform."
They added in a statement that they "hope to play some songs that have never been performed live before as part of a special set."
Cian Ciarán from the band said: "We're looking forward to playing a unique set, something you've never heard before and maybe never will again."

Eisteddfod 2026: Maes B Artist Announcement
Three groups will support Super Furry Animals on the Maes Stage: Mellt, Pys Melyn, and Ynys.
Access to the Maes Stage is included in the price of a regular day ticket, and with organisers expecting the appearance to "attract a large audience to the Maes," they encourage people to purchase tickets in advance "to avoid disappointment."
They also anticipate "high demand for accommodation over the first weekend" and will open the Maes B campsite on the first Saturday night "for one night only for anyone wishing to see Super Furry Animals, with a Maes ticket and camping costing just £45."
