Red Rooster Festival Cancelled

The organisers of the Red Rooster festival have announced the cancellation of this year's event, citing reduced ticket sales, increasing operational costs, and financial pressures as the primary reasons.

The festival was scheduled to take place from 28 to 30 May at Euston Estate in Suffolk, near Thetford in Norfolk.

On its official website, the organisers stated that it had "not been possible to secure the funding required to deliver this year's event" and that the festival was "no longer financially viable".

Forty artists had been confirmed to perform during the festival's 12th edition.

Organisers' Statement

In an official statement, the organisers described the event as a "much-loved festival" that was "shaped by its community, returning supporters, artists, traders, crew and the very special setting at Euston Hall".

"Due to a combination of reduced ticket sales, rising operational costs and ongoing financial pressures, it has not been possible to secure the funding required to deliver this year's event," the statement read.
"These pressures have been compounded by the increasingly challenging environment for independent festivals, including inflation, higher fuel and transport costs, supply chain pressures and the impact of cost-of-living challenges on audiences."

The statement also noted that Opus Restructuring & Insolvency has been engaged to advise the directors with the intention of placing the company into Creditors' Voluntary Liquidation.

The organisers extended apologies to all those affected and indicated they are coordinating with SeeTickets regarding the next steps for ticket holders.

Festival Plans and Ticket Information

When the festival was announced earlier this year, organisers had promised it would be "bigger, bolder, and louder than ever," with tickets reportedly "flying" off the shelves.

Artists booked to perform included Valerie June, Bobby Rush, and The Handsome Family.

Tickets were priced at £154.50 for the weekend, which included camping and parking options.
