Partygoers at a nightclub in Falkirk experienced a delay over the weekend when special guest Martin Kemp became trapped in a lift. The Spandau Ballet bassist was scheduled to perform a daytime Valentine's Day DJ set at XOXO on Princes Street in the town.

However, Kemp's appearance was postponed for an hour as he and five others were rescued by firefighters. Kemp documented the emergency response on Instagram, sharing a video with his 682,000 followers.

Despite the delay, the former EastEnders actor proceeded to perform a set featuring 1980s hits as part of his UK tour. This event marked Kemp's return to the Falkirk nightclub following a sell-out show in April of the previous year.

Firefighters Respond to Lift Rescue

Gary McArthur, crew commander at Slamannan Community Fire Station, led the rescue operation after the alarm was raised on Saturday. He commented on the incident, noting the routine nature of such calls but expressing surprise at Kemp's presence.

"Our crews are used to being called out to rescue members of the public who are stuck within lifts - but we had no idea when we managed to open the lift that Martin Kemp was going to be on the other side.
We are glad everyone was safe and in good spirits despite the incident and Martin was still able to make it to his gig in Falkirk."
