Download Festival 2026 Kicks Off with Massive Rock Lineup
The 2026 edition of Download Festival is currently underway, establishing itself as a monumental event in the rock music scene this year.
With Glastonbury on a fallow year, Donington Park in Leicestershire is hosting the largest festival in the UK this summer.
Headliners Limp Bizkit took to the stage on Friday, followed by Guns N' Roses who topped the bill on Saturday. Linkin Park is scheduled to close the three-day event in the arena on Sunday.

The festival has seen an almost complete sell-out, resulting in a bustling atmosphere throughout the event, as depicted in our photo gallery.

Festival Highlights and Atmosphere
Fans have been enjoying a variety of performances across multiple stages, with many embracing the festival’s energetic environment and diverse rock styles.

Notable performances include Lzzy Hale of Halestorm, who delivered a powerful set onstage, captivating the audience.

Other artists such as Charlie Rolfe of As Everything Unfolds and Harmony Cavelle alongside South Arcade have also contributed to the vibrant lineup.

Ginger Wildheart of The Wildhearts added to the dynamic performances, while Behemoth brought intense energy to the Apex Stage.

Festival attendees have showcased their enthusiasm with battle jackets and a wide array of distinctive looks, enhancing the event’s unique character.

Unique Moments and Festival Culture
Among the crowd, a rat (or possibly a mouse) was spotted enjoying the music alongside fellow fans, adding an unexpected element to the festival experience.

Despite showers in the days leading up to the festival, the weather has been predominantly sunny during most performances, contributing to the overall positive atmosphere.

A miniature custom urn containing some of Lemmy's ashes is housed inside a fruit machine that will be permanently displayed in Manchester following the festival, serving as a tribute to the rock legend.
