Incident at Cardiff Castle Concert
Jaret Reddick, the lead singer of American pop punk band Bowling for Soup, has confirmed that his 13-year-old son, Everett, is "fine" after being accidentally dropped by fans during his first crowd surf at a concert in Cardiff Castle on 4 July.
Reddick addressed the incident in a social media post, acknowledging the role of gravity in the mishap.
"What a night! Even if they dropped my child on his head... be safe out there, kids."
He expressed gratitude towards the audience members who assisted his son immediately after the fall.
"I really appreciate everybody looking after him when he was on the bottom of the pile,"

Background and Tour Details
Bowling for Soup, widely recognized for their hit songs "1985" and "Girl All the Bad Guys Want," were touring the United Kingdom alongside English punk and folk singer-songwriter Frank Turner at the time of the incident.
Everett's First Crowd Surf
In a video shared by Reddick, he explained that prior to the concert, Everett had requested to crowd surf for the first time during the Cardiff Castle show.
Reddick consented to the request and reassured his team about the safety measures in place, stating his intention to personally instruct the crowd to handle his son carefully.
"They are not going to drop him because I'm going to tell them 'hey don't drop him, this is my kid'."
During the crowd surf, Everett fell but was promptly caught by the fans, which led Reddick to believe the situation was under control as his son was brought back over the barrier smiling.

Post-Incident Details
After the concert, Reddick visited his dressing room and noticed Everett was holding his head, indicating the point of impact.
He explained that Everett had fallen headfirst onto a plastic cover protecting cables running from the stage to the soundboard.
Everett was taken to the venue's emergency tent for evaluation. Reddick confirmed that his son was "fine" and noted that Everett had previously experienced a concussion.
"He's had a concussion before."
Despite the fall, Everett was undeterred and expressed his intention to crowd surf again.
"He's going to do it again."
