"A walk up the hill following a fantastic victory in the World Cup opening match," says Chris Clark in Edinburgh. "C'mon Scotland!"


"Had a wonderful experience on the Isle of May, despite the rough seas and heavy rain," says Frank Urban. "The sun eventually appeared and helped us all dry out a bit. It looks like one of the puffins is directing the others away!"

Rory Grant shared this photo of his dad Calum on Lochnagar in the Cairngorms.

"Roe deer hiding in the long grass near the River Dee, Cults, Aberdeen," says Gerry Macdonald.

"Walking in Mugdock Park in Milngavie I came across these wonderful small pearl-bordered butterflies," says Walter Ritchie.

"Acrobatic squirrel" was how Alison Jones captioned this action shot in Milton of Campsie.

Not to be outdone in the squirrel stakes, Simon Nicholson spotted this rare albino squirrel in his Edinburgh garden - eating fruit from the plum tree.

"The last thing that I expected to encounter while rambling on the remote headland at Yesnaby in Orkney was a race meeting of the Motocross Club," says Bruce Carrington. "What an amazing spectacle!"

Alastair Mudie shared this shot of a sleepy seal, taken at the Bridge of Don nature reserve in Aberdeen.

"This is the annual taxi charity run from Glasgow to Troon," says Sylvia Watson. "More than 100 taxis took part in this colourful parade, which was watched by many people."

Ian Thornton took this striking shot on Iona looking back to Fionnphort.

"Thought this rainbow over Newhaven harbour with the wind turbine jacket foundations being loaded on to a ship was worth sharing," says David Henderson.

"I have been trying to get shots of the garden birds in flight," says Iain Kirkpatrick in Paisley. "One of my favourite visitors is the blue tit but they are small and extremely fast. I was very lucky to catch this one flying over the bird table. Weeks of perseverance had finally paid off."

"Collected from the garden by my four-year-old daughter Brèa," says Ruth Wiegratz-Hope in Craigellachie. "We found 27 different types!"

"Me celebrating Scotland's first World Cup victory in 36 years by flying the Lion Rampant from the Aonach Eagach ridge in Glencoe on Sunday after the match," says Robbie Cumming, dramatically captured by 13-year-old son Finlay.

"Saltire pictured at sunset on Nairn beach just a few hours before the Scotland v Haiti game, well done Scotland," says Elena Reid.
