Any job redundancies and the closure of the existing office are not anticipated to occur until the end of the year.

Details of the Restructuring Plan

"We have shared with colleagues a proposal to restructure our UK organisation, separating into two independent organisations," a Spirit Energy statement said.

According to the proposals, a new development company based in Aberdeen will employ about 50 people and operate from a smaller office within the city.

This Aberdeen-based entity will focus on supporting a carbon storage project at Morecambe.

The other organisation will be based in Barrow and will manage fields located in the East Irish Sea.

Rationale and Support Commitment

"Our structure must change to ensure our resources and personnel are where they are needed to support our activities," Spirit Energy said.
"We are committed to supporting all our colleagues throughout the consultation process."
