Zayn Malik Cancels US Tour and UK Dates After Hospital Photo
Zayn Malik has cancelled his upcoming US solo tour along with two UK arena shows after posting a photo of himself in hospital.
The former One Direction singer released a statement on his Instagram page informing fans that he needed to take "another look" at his schedule.
He stated he was working to become "better and stronger than before" but would have to reduce the number of performances on his forthcoming Konnakol tour, named after his latest album.
Malik has previously cancelled live dates citing "extreme anxiety" but has not specified the reason for these latest cancellations.
The hospital photo was shared on the star's official updates page two weeks ago.
In a subsequent post on his personal Instagram account announcing the cancelled shows, Malik described it as a "long week" and said he was still "unexpectedly recovering".
"I've felt it and it's meant the world," he said.
"I've been at home recovering and I'm doing well and will be better and stronger than before."
He also thanked fans for their "prayers and well-wishes."

Glasgow and Dublin Dates Cancelled
In February, Malik announced his largest solo tour to date, comprising 31 dates worldwide, set to begin at Manchester's AO Arena on 12 May.
The rescheduled tour will now commence on 23 May, featuring only nine dates.
Malik will now perform his first UK show at London O2 on 23 May, followed by a show at Manchester's AO Arena the next day.
Shows in Glasgow, Birmingham, and Dublin have been cancelled, but performances in Mexico, Argentina, Chile, Peru, and Brazil are still planned to proceed.
Malik fan Morvan Dick told beat she had tickets for the Glasgow show and was planning to attend with her boyfriend.
"We had booked time off work to go, and a hotel," she said.
"I am actually devastated to be honest, gutted doesn't really cut it at this point.
"I have been a fan since day one so it's just a bucket list thing."
But "health comes first before anything," she added.
Customers who purchased tickets via Ticketmaster have been informed that refunds will be issued automatically, and tickets for the Manchester show will remain valid for the new date.
beat has contacted Zayn Malik's representatives for further comment.
