Megan Thee Stallion has ended her role in Moulin Rouge! The Musical nearly three weeks before her scheduled departure. The rapper was originally set to portray the character Zidler on Broadway until May 17, but she announced via Instagram that her final performance at the Al Hirschfeld Theatre would now take place on May 1.
Grammy-winning artist Megan, aged 31, was hospitalized at the end of March during a performance. Additionally, she recently disclosed her split from professional basketball player Klay Thompson.
Regarding her departure, Megan stated:
"It's been such an honor to be part of thee Moulin Rouge family."
While she did not specify the reasons for leaving early, U.S. media outlets have suggested a connection to her public breakup with NBA star Thompson. Megan had appeared to accuse Thompson of infidelity in an Instagram Stories post, which has since been removed.
