BBC Commissions New Paranormal Drama The Witch Farm
A ghost story and mystery set in the Welsh countryside, inspired by real events, has been commissioned as a new BBC drama.
The Witch Farm, written and created by Danny Robins, originally ran as a paranormal podcast.
It tells the story behind the haunting of a remote Welsh farmhouse after a couple leave London for Heol Fanog, in the foothills of the Bannau Brycheiniog, determined to make a fresh start.

Cast and Setting
The series will feature Port Talbot-born actor Gabrielle Creevy, known for Black Doves and The Guest, as well as Michael Socha from Showtrial.
Set in 1989, the series follows Bill and Liz Rich as the isolation of their new home becomes increasingly chilling after a traumatic home birth.
Plot Overview
A steady escalation of unexplained disturbances occur, creating an unsettling sense that they are not alone.
The four-part series follows the couple as they investigate, with the house drawing them deeper into a history that tests the boundaries of their marriage through trials of trust, belief, and survival.
Creator's Vision
Robins, who has become a leading voice in the UK on paranormal matters, said the evolution into a TV drama will take viewers on an
"emotional rollercoaster that will have you gripped, moved and spine-tingled."
He added,
"Get ready for a supernatural thriller that plays out as the most deliciously dark detective story."
Robins described the making of the original podcast series as an
"exciting thrill ride"
that came close to answering the question of whether ghosts exist.
Inspiration and Adaptation
The Witch Farm is inspired by real events, theories, and first-hand accounts explored in the original podcast.
However, in this retelling, some characters, elements, and chronologies have been created or altered for dramatic purposes.
Production Details
Filming for The Witch Farm is due to begin soon, though no release date has been confirmed.
